After much consideration, I came to the decision to put my notice in at my job where I worked for the largest privately-held insurance broker in the world.  Once I made that decision, I struggled with clarity on what I wanted to do next. The only thing that excited me was the idea of travel, so I decided to take some time off to explore this great world we have. My boss said that he was considering it a leave of absence, and he believes that we will find a good fit for when I return.

So off I go… I’m headed to Asia (primarily SE Asia). I’m thrilled, and I have so many exciting things ahead of me.  I will be alone for a portion of the trip, but I also have some of my favorite people joining me as well. My husband has been a real trooper. He’s super supportive as he knows this has always been a dream of mine, and he will join me for a portion of the trip. I chose this area because of it’s beauty, price, and safety. My brother has traveled all over the world, and this area had some of his favorite countries.

My friends at work sent me off with a fantastic going away celebration and some wonderful gifts. They gave me a drawstring pouch, and they all wrote their favorite travel quotes, which couldn’t have been more perfect:
